JACKIE 01:06
JACKIE There’s a girl, what a girl, round her finger she can curl you, and Jackie’s her name, She’s a dame, what a dame, for her beauty she is famous, and Jackie’s her name. If you're wishing for a girl who Is fishing for a ring, You better look out or she’ll add you to her string, She’s a chick that is slick and she always gets her pick And if she ever picks out you, You’re out of luck if you don’t duck ‘cause you’ll never be the same, You’ll wish you never met her never even heard her name, She’s a girl, what a girl, round her finger she can curl you And I, happen to know. I fell in love with Jackie on the night we met, She left me for another and my head is spinning yet. So beware, have a care, or she’ll catch you in her snare. Remember Jackie’s, her name.

KNOCK ON WOOD Knock on wood, wherever you may be, Why don’t you knock on wood, a house or on a tree, You oughta knock on wood , wherever you may be, If you wanta be lucky, knock on wood Take a lesson from the smartest bird you'll ever see, He keeps knockin’ and a peckin’ in the same old tree, He’s mister woody woodpecker and he’s tryin’ to say, “If you want to be lucky, knock on wood today.” Why don’t you knock on wood, wherever you may be, Why don’t you knock on wood, a house or on a tree, You ought to knock on wood, wherever you may be, If you want to be lucky, knock on wood. If you got a lot of worries, there's a cure for you, If you’re in a peck of trouble and it bothers you, Find yourself a stately mansion or a rundown shed, If you can’t find any other wood then use your head. Knock on wood, wherever you may be, Why don't you knock on wood, a house or on a tree, You ought to knock on wood, wherever you may be, If you want to be lucky, knock on wood.

YOU CAN’T CATCH ME Oh you can’t catch me in your little old trap, Though you might chase me, all over the map, Don’t you know that I see just what you’re tryin’ to do, Why don’t you realize that I’m wise to you. Oh you can’t catch me in your little old snare. If you try to tie the knot, well I won’t be there, Why don’t you chase somebody else because it’s easy to see, That you can’t catch me. Oh you can’t catch me no matter how hard you try, But just because I like you, I’ll tell you why, Because you’re tryin’ too hard and everybody can see, That you are really chasin’ after me. But if you really want to catch me, I’ll be your coach My first advice is to try a new approach. Why don’t you play hard to get and let me chase after you Then you might catch me! Yes you might catch me!

STOP, LOOK, AND LISTEN You better stop, look, and listen, before you take a chance. You better stop, look and listen, before you try romance, You ought to stop, look, and listen, until you’re sure, ‘cause you know that prevention, is better than cure. Let me tell you just what happened to a friend of mine, On his very special honey he spent every dime, When he finally said "O baby will you say - I do” She said "Why, I would never, ever marry you!” You better stop, look, and listen, before you take a chance, You better stop, look, and listen, before you try romance, You ought to stop, look, and listen until you’re sure Cause you know that prevention is better than cure. If you have a special sweetheart that you think’s for you, Then before you pop the question, here’s the thing to do, Say you’re in financial trouble and you need some dough, From her answer you can tell if you should stop or go! So won't you stop, look and listen before you take a chance, You better stop look and listen, before you try romance, You ought to stop, look, and listen, until you’re sure, cause you know that prevention, is better than cure.

MR. MISCHIEF 02:22
MR. MISCHIEF Mr. Mischief, as busy as a bee, Mr. Mischief, it suits him to a tee, Mr. Mischief, we’d like to have you see, The little man we call Mr. Mischief. He used to be a baby boy, Who was our little pride and joy. He’s climbing up the family tree, Now he’s a little man of three. That's Mr. Mischief, busy as a bee, Mr. Mischief, it suits him to a tee, Mr. Mischief, we’d like to have you see, The little man we call Mr. Mischief. He doesn’t like to sit and play, He’d rather run and climb all day, To find new tricks that he can do, And play with things that are taboo. That's Mr. Mischief, as busy as a bee, Mr. Mischief, it suits him to a tee, Mr. Mischief, we’d like to have you see, The little man we call Mr. Mischief. One day was quiet as a mouse, We called the doc out to the house. He said “your boy just has the flu, And soon he’ll be as good as new.” That's Mr. Mischief, as busy as a bee, Mr. Mischief, it suits him to a tee, Mr. Mischief, we’d like to have you see, The little man we call Mr. Mischief. He has responsibility, Now that he’s four instead of three, He knows that it’s his job to see, That she’s Miss Mischief when she’s three. Mr. Mischief, as busy as a bee, Mr. Mischief, it suits him to a tee, Mr. Mischief we’d like to have you see, The little man so small, the little man so tall, The little man we all call Mr. Mischief. (This song was motivated by the behavior of our first son, Jim, who is now following in my footsteps in teaching the four levels to evaluate training programs.)

about

My name is Dr. Donald Kirkpatrick, recognized by most trainers as the trainer who conducted management seminars at the University of Wisconsin and created “The Four Levels for Evaluating Training Programs”.

These five songs are not typical of my interest in classical music, but I hope would be enjoyable for everyone to hear. I tried to make the lyrics somewhat clever so that listeners would at least smile, and maybe even laugh.

The very talented Larry Moore played the piano accompaniment.

I want to thank our youngest son, Ted for doing all the work to make the songs available to you.
